STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions together with any specific rules set out in Competition Notices (as defined below) are the Competition Rules ("Rules") and apply to competitions ("Competition") featuring in any DSCI – STOP | Think | Connect campaign unless otherwise expressly stated. By entering a Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules. Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter one of our competitions, we will assume that you have read these rules and that you agree to them.
DSCI and its partners (hereafter referred to as “the organizers”) reserve the right to cancel or amend the Competition or the Rules without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside the organizers reasonable control. Any changes will be posted either within these terms and conditions or the Competition Notice.
In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a Competition, the decision of the judge(s) shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into
All personal details submitted must be accurate and complete and are subject to proof upon request by the Organizers. The Organizers reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants and to disqualify any entry not submitted in accordance with these Terms or which tampers with the entry process.
Incomplete, indecipherable, illegible or incorrect entries or any entry which violates the Terms, will automatically be disqualified. Entries received after the Closing Date will be disqualified.
The Organiser will not accept any responsibility for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged or undelivered. The Organiser shall not be responsible for technical errors in telecommunications networks, Internet access or otherwise preventing entry to the Contest.
Who can enter? / Qualification Criteria’s
1. By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. The organizers reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
2. The organizers assume that by reading the publication or by using the website and entering the Competition (and you warrant that) you are aged 18 or over or, if you are under 18, that your parents have consented to your entry into the Competition and these Rules.
3. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Rules.
4. In the event that any entrant is disqualified from the Competition, the organizers in their sole discretion may decide whether a replacement should be selected. In this event, any further entrant will be selected on the same criteria as the original entrant and will be subject to these Rules.
5. The organisers and judges reserve the right to remove any entries from the competition that they feel may breach any of these terms and conditions or contravene laws of public decency or may bring the entrant or the competition into disrepute or otherwise contrary to the spirit of the Competition. Such entries will be disqualified.
Important information
1. The team size should lie between 4 - 8members
2. The duration of act should not exceed 8-10mins (including setup, if any, and clearance time)
3. Teams are expected to perform in open air venue with audience on all sides
4. The content / message of the act is not demeaning to the Nation, organization, community, individuals etc
5. The language shall be English and Hindi with use of regional language wherever required
6. Use of fire/water/smoke machines is strictly prohibited
7. Obscenity (at the discretion of judges) of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification
8. Time limit should be followed. Participants will be penalized by judges
How will winners be selected? / Judging Criteria:
Entries in each of the five categories will be rated and judged as follows:

Understanding and Knowledge of the topic
Direction
Synchronization/ use of props music / Flow of play
Enactment
Individual performances / audience interaction /Team Synergy
Uniqueness
Judges choice for something interesting they find / clutter breaking / different /fresh
Time

Prizes
1. In all matters, the decision of the judge(s) shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
2. Prize winners will be notified in the manner and within the time specified on the Competition Notice.
3. Competition winner(s) consent to publishing their names on the relevant website/social media / news articles or other information sources as deemed necessary by the organizers.
4. Claims for prizes must be made in the manner and within the time specified on the Competition Notice. Failure to claim a prize within this time or in the manner specified may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
5. Prizes are non–transferable and there is no cash alternative. The organizers reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
6. Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the organizers and no prizes will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant.
7. Where a prize may not be appropriate for a younger contestant, the minimum age for entry will be stated in the Competition Notice and must be observed. The organizers reserve the right to request written proof of age of any winner.
8. The Organizers reserves the right to select an alternative Winner at any time, where the Organizers have reasonable grounds for believing that the initially selected Winner has contravened any of these Terms. Any alternative Winner will be selected applying the same criteria as that used to select the original Winner.
9. The Organizers reserves the right to deal with any unclaimed Prize in any manner it deems fit.
10. All taxes, insurances, transfers, spending money and other expenses (including meals or personal expenses upgrades etc.) as the case may be, unless specifically stated, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
11. The Organizers shall not be held liable for (i) any delay in performing or partial or total failure to perform any of their obligations to the Winners under these Terms if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Organizers, its respective divisions, affiliates, authorized dealers/distributors, agents, suppliers of the Prize(s), including without limitation delays, changes, disruptions, cancellations, diversions or substitutions howsoever caused including without limitation as a result of war, terrorist action or threatened terrorist action, strikes, hostilities, civil commotions, accidents, fire, flood or natural catastrophes or (ii) from any loss, damage to property, injury, or death resulting from or related to entrant's participation or inability to participate in this Contest, or the use, misuse or inability to use the Prize or any portion thereof, provided, however, that nothing in these Terms shall limit the Organizers’ liability for death or personal injury caused by its own negligence, deceit or fraud.
Intellectual Property Rights
1. Acceptance of the Prize shall constitute consent on the Winner's part (including Winner’s companion’s part, as the case may be), to allow the use of the Winner’s (and Winner’s companion’s) entry, names, images, video footage, voices and/or likeness by the Organizers for editorial, advertising, promotional, marketing and/or other purposes, without further compensation, in any media for an unlimited period of time, except where prohibited by law.
You now grant the organizers (and third parties authorized by the organizers) a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license (for the full period of any rights in the Entry) to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, make derivative works from, edit, alter, store, re-format, sell and sub-license the above mentioned informaiton for such purposes.
2. The organizers do not guarantee to use or otherwise make available any Entry and may, in appropriate circumstances, and at their sole discretion, reject, edit, remove or disable access to Entries that appear to be legally or otherwise problematic e.g. infringe the copyright or other intellectual property or privacy rights of others, are defamatory etc. or for any other reason.
Data Protection and Publicity
1. Any personal information, including without limitation, the entrant's name, age, address (including postcode), telephone number and/or email address will be used solely in connection with this Contest and for any purpose for which the entrant specifically opts in and will not be disclosed to any third party except for (a) the purpose of fulfilling the Prize where applicable and (b) for any purpose for which the entrant specifically opts in. Any personal information held by the Organiser in respect of the Contest will be held on record for a reasonable period to fulfill the purpose for which such personal information was collected. If an entrant gives the Organiser permission to pass on his/her personal information to a third party via a specific express consent/opt-in mechanism, then the privacy policy of such third party handling the personal information shall apply and the handling of the entrant's information by such third party shall no longer be the responsibility of the Organiser. Entrants have a right to access, correct and have their personal data deleted from the Organiser's database.
2. The Organisers reserve the right to terminate the Contest or to modify the Contest rules and Terms prior to the Closing Date by amending the rules and Terms hereof at its sole and absolute discretion. Any such modifications shall be notified via the Contest Website, and such modifications shall be immediately effective and apply to all entries, including entries that have been submitted to the Organiser.
